We have extended our stay so that we could see our new friends Dot and George again before we head out to the Coorong for some bush camping.
On Sunday we went to Strathalbyn and met Dot and George who are busily renovating a 10metre bus into a motorhome so that they can go travelling. It will be mighty fine when they have it completed and on the road. We got to their home at about 10.15 am and the next thing we knew it was 5pm…… Where did that time go???? Stopped to get a picture of a ‘canoe tree’ on the way back near Currency Creek.
Monday we had the day at the van – a lazy day – as it was raining on and off throughout the whole day. We got the washing done and put it through the dryer – slowest drying machines around!!!! BUT got it all dry in the end. In the afternoon we decided to go for a walk along the waterfront toward “The Bluff”. We got about 1 ½ km away from the park when it decided it was going to rain L
Made our way back to a shelter and found some physical fitness apparatus for ADULTS…. In the middle of the parklands. You use your own body weight as the counterweight.
me doing my exercise..... not sure what it is called tho... I am weaing my 'Heidi' hat - it covers my ears, has a pom-pom and has plait ties so it does up under my chin. It was about 6 degrees whilst we were playing.....
Back to the van and cooked spare ribs and beef schnitzel in the cobb for dinner.. Yum ohhhhHad a couple of the other park occupants come to see our ‘fire’ and “what a great idea that cobb is!”
They could smell the aroma of cooking beef across the park J
Then around to Parsons Beach and as we got out to go to the lookout we got caught in a misty shower….. bugger! Were quite wet as we got back to the car.
We stopped at Second Valley on the way to Normanville and saw the most amazing rock formations and colours
At about 8pm tonight there was a knock at the door of the van – the census man was there to give us our Census forms so that no one misses out. Not even those of us in Caravans. J
Tomorrow we will go to Strathalbyn to visit Dot and George and go to the Antique stores – apparently there are plenty in 'Strath' and we will have Dot as our guide. On Thursday we will be heading down the Coorong and doing some bush camping.
Those of you who use Facebook will know this already, but for those of you who don’t ---- Our son Ben was in Hospital yesterday and had an amputation of the left index finger, from the tip to the first knuckle. This is because of an injury that he had in the UK and had made the finger useless. He is much happier now and very pleased with the outcome.
Keep well everyone.
Barb and Darryl
