We have had a good time in Wentworth – getting out and seeing some of the highlights and the parks and just going for walks along the riverbank. We are in the Willow Bend Caravan park but unfortunately all the willows have been cut down…… Apparently they are the ideal breeding ground for carp, they tarnish the water and a few other things – so they have all been cut down :{
The water was lapping the little bank behind the van about 2 months ago…..
Where we are parked is where the water ALMOST made during the floods. The area behind us and down to the river was under water for 20 weeks and it has destroyed all the plants and gardens and lawn that were just starting to look lovely.

Wentworth is famous for the Massey Ferguson tractor and how a whole lot of them saved the town from inundation during the 1956 floods by building the levee bank that is present today. There are plaques and monuments to the tractor and its operators around the town. Later this month there is to be a big gathering of Massey Ferguson Tractors and they are expecting over 350 tractors this year. This event is held every five years.
Monument for the tractor erected in 1959.
We will be heading off from Wentworth on the morrow. We will be heading to Renmark but will see how far we get.
Love to you all, and keep safe
Barb and Darryl
