Bourke 23.6.11

Well today we arrived in Bourke.  We had a very sedate drive from Brewarrina.  Stayed there last night at a stop about 1.5km out of town with 2 other vans.
We had a great night and it got down to 2 degrees.  No frost though there was a very heavy dew.
We then drove into town an went to the information centre and then to the Fish traps - 40,000 years old and then to the Aboiginal Heritage centre.

Very interesting morning.  At about 11am we headed off for Bourke and arrived just after 12.  Stopped in at the Back'o Bourke Exhibition Centre, had lunch and then got our ticket for the Jandra Paddleboat cruise - which we will use tomorrow.
Drove out to the Kidman's Camp - 7 km north of Bourke on the Cunnamulla road.  A VERY busy place and lots of vans in.  They also have tent camping, campertrailer area and lovely amenities.

Went for walk down tp the Darling River - 500 metres away

The mighty Darling at North Bourke.

Saw lots of emu's on our travels today [photos are on Darryl's camera :( ]  So will post them later.
