Easter Monday

Sorry for the delay in getting emails to you, but we don’t have any reception down by the river at Wantabadgery :( So much for Telstra and the Next G connection :( So I am typing this up and when we go into Wagga on Easter Monday – I will send it.

We have had some lovely days here. We went into Wagga and visited Mum – she is looking good in the face, but her limbs are so thin. She has got another dose of conjunctivitis – which doesn’t look nice. We then visited with Lyn, Meghan and Jaden and whilst there Ken and Stuart dropped in also.

On Friday – Ian, Wendy, Holly and the two puppies arrived at the river for the weekend.

On Saturday we had a lovely day with the family on the banks of the river. All the children went for a swim/walk in the river. Yes – they were able to walk the 60 metres across the river. The deepest part was up to Holly’s neck (about 1.5m deep). They had a great time. Stuart was feeling a little out of it as he needed surgery on his left index finger after getting it caught in the car door and splitting his nail in half. They operated and removed his nail and checked to see if he had damaged the nail bed – but all ok.

All the children – oops young adults – crossing the river.

We were going to have a BBQ but there are no BBQ plates available.

Meghan, Kayla, Pauline, Peter, Holly and Stuart enjoying the lunch.

Ian had his Oz-pig (small camp stove) going and cooked some sausages and steak and Darryl and I provided chicken. Lyn and Jenny and families bought an assortment of sandwiches and nibbles and we had a lovely family picnic. Our friends Jan, John, Denise, Ron, Sally and Wes also joined in.

Our camp by the river.

Saturday night we watched a DVD of Jeff Dunham the ventriloquist and his puppets. What a great laugh. Unfortunately for us Wendy had a terrible headache and had to miss the entertainment. I started to get the wobbles in the dark and by 10.30pm I had to lay down. Today I was unable to get up until nearly 12 – so that spoilt the day for me. At the moment I have got a fussy head but otherwise fine.

Darryl has been doing some fishing – he caught a Trout Cod and he did the right thing and threw it back. They are an endangered species. He has managed to catch a few yabbies and some small shrimp which he has been using for bait.

Have done the washing this afternoon and the clouds are starting to roll in. There is rain predicted for us this afternoon. Ian, Wendy and Holly have gone into Wagga today and they head for Condobolin tomorrow. Ian has just been appointed as the District Agronomist (DA) at Condobolin – so they are going out to check out the DA house. Holly and Wendy will move out in July at the end of term two. Apparently they had to give the school a terms notice that Holly would be leaving.

Darryl and I are booked into the Campertrailers National Meet at Condobolin in September – so we will call in and see them whilst we are there.

Well that is about all from us for now. Until next time – keep safe.

Lots of love to everyone
