Sorry for the delay in getting this email to you – but we have been having trouble with the mobile stick. :( :(
Well we have had a busy time. We arrived at Trevor and Karen’s on Monday 22nd – after leaving Upper Colo. We had a good relaxing stay with a daily swim in their pool. I had a wobbly day on Wednesday – so Trevor did some farm work and Darryl began playing another of his games :). We left Trev and Karen’s place on Thursday 25th morning and slowly made our way to Young. We stopped off at the Japanese garden at Cowra. What a beautiful garden – so peaceful and well looked after. Well worth the $10 entry fee.
We went to visit JD’s Jam factory but unfortunately it has closed. The previous owners divorced and then the new own tried to run it from Sydney but it didn’t work. So all the good “Mountain Maid” fruit and jams are no longer produced.
We explored Young on Friday and visited the Chinaman’s Gardens and the Folk Museum which is situated in the old school. The school closed to education in 1982.

These gardens – although not on the large scale of the Japanese Garden – were very peaceful.
We left Young this morning (27th) and are now parked int the caravan park by the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai. Not a very busy park BUT so peaceful. Listening to the birds (Kookaburra’s, Major Mitchell Cockatoos, cockateels and others) and there is a family of ducks waddling past.
This is the view from our camper – the old railway bridge into Gundagai. This whole area is known to go under when there is a big flood. This is the old road bridge into Gundagai – it has now been replaced by a concrete structure about 1 km downstream.
You can see why it isn’t used anymore :)
Tomorrow we head to Wantabadgery and set up camp for a week. We will then visit Lyn, Jenny and families and Mum. Of course we will have to see the newest arrival to the family – Jaden Malcolm born on 20th March 2010.
Well that is all from me until we can get the internet fixed so that I can send this out. Hoping you are all keeping well.
Love Barb and Darryl.
