Lead up to Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone.
We are slowing getting things done here.  Yesterday we had a team of three 'tree men' here to give the foliage a bit of a haircut and the yard looks great.
the Geisha Girl had a haircut and the Grevillia had the top cut off to encourage it to fill out
The Lychee tree had a MASSIVE haircut and the overgrown suckers in the corner have been cut right back.

the varigated Bougainvillea had a good trim and the Tippochena had a MASSIVE haircut also - getting it off the shed.
Some apples on our tree - unfortunately the bats are eating more than we are
the fruit is long and skinny but VERY sweet

Was going to mow the lawn today BUT it is stinking hot in the sun so it will wait until the sun is in the decline for the day and then I will attempt it :)
We will be spending time out with the grandchildren over Christmas and the whole family will be together for Christmas lunch and into the evening.
We will be spending New Years Camping up at Blackbutt with quite a few of our caravan Club friends and then on to Gin Gin to spend time with Heather and family and Peter at Delan.  That, we are looking forward to. :D
Back in October I had a very sore and swollen left thumb and the new doctor thought that I had gout in the thumb.  We treated it with Colchicine and within a couple of hours I could bend it.  About three weeks later my thumb started to  click (or trigger) at the first joint and it was treated with anti-inflammatories.  This has now progressed to where the first knuckle locks when it is bent and I have pain in all the joints of the thumb.  I have been referred to a hand surgeon for  review and possibly a cortisone injection into the tendon and or surgery.  I am awaiting the surgeons team to give me a call and I will know more after that.  So that will be a New Year happening.

Our ladies group is moving locations in the New Year as it has outgrown the tea room at the Yulu-Burri-Ba Medical Centre where we have been meeting.  The COOEE elders of Cleveland/Redland Bay have kindly offered to let the group meet at their premises in the New Year, a bigger venue and the ability to get the ladies out into the fresh air for gardening or exercise.  We had our Christmas Party at the new location.
We were treated to a traditional Tongan Dance by the twins -Alanna and Chelsea - and they were joined by their Mum and Aunty.

I went to a lovely night at the Sunnybank Sports club for a retirement farewell for one of my colleagues from Logan.  What a great evening and a fantastic to meet up with so many old friends.

Wishing you all a Very MERRY Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
