Renovations begin and the day ends with a broken leg for Bradley :)

Today we were up at 5.30am so that we coud have showers before the plumbers arrived to start ripping out the upstairs bathroom.
They arrived just before 7 and away they went..........
All the tiles out, shower out, wall out, floor out and then the main pipes needed to be replaced as they were decaying.  Dust everywhere............ :)
New floor and walls are in.
Waterproofer coming at 7.30 tomorrow  Then tilers on Wednesday and Thursday. Then the team will be in to measure up the new shower screens.  We then have to wait a week for them to arrive :(
Then when we thought all was fine we got a phone call from Matt to say that Beckie was on her way into the Mater Children's Hospital with Bradley.  He had twisted his ankle going down the stairs at school on Friday of last week and his ankle was quite swollen and tender.  They kept telling him that it would go down.  When he complained that it was sore this afternoon and they looked they saw that the bruising was moving up his leg so decided to get a medical opinion.  Dr sent them straight to the Mater.  He has broken the bone in the ankle and  has a backslab on.  He needs to go back next week and re-xray and full cast to be applied.
What a start to the holidays for him.... :( :)

  1. Awww poor Bradley, Chloe broke her arm just before we went to Japan, but its incredible how kids cope with breaks isn't it? Glad they are going well with your bathroom, you will be glad when it's all over and finished xxxx

  2. Thanks Jenni,
poor kid was trying to walk on it for 4 days.......
Ahh well - at least it is in a backslab now and full cast next week.
And it is amazing how quickly they heal.
The doctors are concerned that he may have damaged the growth plate in the bones though - so for another x-ray next week before the full cast.
